Ultra-accessible theme park grand opening on April 10th

On March 3, Morgan’s Wonderland became the first theme park specially designed to meet the needs of people with disabilities. The park, located in San Antonio, Texas, will have its Grand Opening Ceremony on April 10 at 5 p.m. The 25 acre park offers Braille sign-age and 3-D park model for the visually impaired. Service dogs also have their own rest area. People with special needs are free to get in. Those accompanying the person with specials needs only pay $5 and general admission is only $15. Those 3-years-old and under are also free.
The park includes several special-needs accessible activities including a catch-and-release pond, a carousel, swings, wheelchair swings, remote-controlled boats and water cannons. There’s a Pirate Island Playground, a train, music garden and sensory village.
Paralyzed Veterans of America volunteers will help to staff the park.
There are even 18 ADA-accessible restrooms with oversized floor plans. Each park visitor also receives radio frequency wristbands to track the visitors. There are also two first aid stations to handle medical emergencies.
Reservations are required to enter so that the park can ensure the best possible care of the visitors. The park opens at 10 a.m. year-round.

The Abilities Expo West will take place in the beautiful and sunny Los Angeles, Ca. beginning April 9th.
